A Neath tree has been named Wales’ 2017 ‘Tree of the Year’ after winning a public vote.
The Hollow Oak in Gnoll County Park received 64% of the votes cast and will benefit from a £1,000 tree care award.
Gnoll Country Park was once owned by a wealthy industrial family, the Mackworths but has since been developed into a country park surrounded by a 18th Century garden and woodlands.
The tree has been completely hollow since the 1950s and has been fitted with bars to act as supports.
