I Attended Melin Junior school along with Cllr Sheila Penry and Cllr Sandra Miller to visit the new Food and Fun School Holiday Enrichment Programme. (SHEP)
The SHEP initiative Is a multi-agency programme, developed by the Food Cardiff partnership, to provide healthy meals, nutrition education and physical activity sessions to children in areas of deprivation during the school holidays. I met with Mr Richards Head Teacher of Melin Junior who said he was very pleased with the attendance of pupils and was pleased to see the Community coming together.
It was great to attend Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen OAP group meeting and discuss future workings together.
It was a pleasure to meet with Nathan and hear how skills competitions are supporting young people as they prepare for the world of work. He is a great example of what you can achieve with a high quality training programme. I wish Nathan the very best of luck for EuroSkills Gothenburg 2016.
Nathan Jones, 19, from Neath and who studies at Neath Port Talbot College has been selected to represent the UK in web design at EuroSkills Gothenburg 2016. Following the EuroSkills Competition, Nathan will go onto compete for a place in the team that will represent the UK at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, the world’s largest skills competition.
Great to be at 7fest along with Ladies Captain Bethan, Amy, Jako and Jeremy Miles. Great entertainment provided by local bands.
Visited Remploy in Neath and met the wonderful staff and heard about all the fantastic services and opportunities that were available to residents in Neath.
Team Neath explored and learnt about Penderyn distillery, Penderyn Single Malt Welsh Whisky was first launched on St David’s Day, 1st March 2004. In 2007, Penderyn Distillery introduced three further brands: Brecon Five Vodka, Brecon Gin and Merlyn Cream Liqueur. Like Penderyn Single Malt Whisky all three have won international recognition and are gaining an excellent reputation in the UK and abroad as premium spirits.
The Brecon Beacons National Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty famed for its breathtaking scenery, open moorland, clear rivers and tumultuous waterfalls.
Indeed, Penderyn has already won a number of prestigious international awards for the quality and taste of the whisky and for its distinctive and stylish packaging.
