Christina Rees MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for the Courts and Legal Aid, responding to Michael Gove’s letter to the Justice Select Committee chair revealing an issue with a faulty court form and errors with warrant processing, said:
“This is yet more evidence of shambles and mismanagement at the Ministry of Justice.
“These are very serious errors which are likely to have had implications not only for the individuals concerned but also the wider community.
“It is shocking that these errors were not picked up for so long and that the Government is now seeking to bury this information.
“Tory Ministers must make sure the findings of any investigations are made public and make clear what urgent action they are taking to address the consequences of these mistakes and ensure they do not happen again.”
